For the first time in 10 years, both the Knicks and Sixers—a pair of iconic NBA franchises—will be in the playoffs, so it is fitting that they are now battling it out for seeding. The Sixers (40-38) will enter this game with a half-game lead over New York (39-38) for the No. 6 seed, but the teams are tied in the loss column. Philadelphia is up, 2-1, in the series, and can clinch the tiebreaker with a win. But a Knicks win is likely to give New York the tiebreaker based on division record.

Anze Kopitar scored his team-leading 26th goal as the host Los Angeles Kings tightened their grip on a Western Conference playoff spot with a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, but he will be sidelined for at least six weeks after sustaining a broken ankle in the second period.
Kopitar, a five-year veteran center who leads Los Angeles with 73 points and has played a club-record 330 consecutive games, fell backward after a light check into the boards by defenseman Ryan O'Byrne.

Penguins forward Matt Cooke apologized for an illegal hit that earned him the stiffest suspension of his NHL career, telling local reporters he needs to change the way he plays the game.
Cooke told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review late Monday in Detroit he "made a mistake" when he landed an elbow to the head of Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.
The oft-penalized forward was suspended for the remainder of the regular season and the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, which means he'll sit a minimum of 14 games and a maximum of 17.

2011 NFL Draft: Who Should Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft to Continue Rise in NFC?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out of nowhere in 2010 to surprise the NFL, and while they just missed a playoff berth, they showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with over the next few years.
They fixed up their defensive interior by drafting Gerald McCoy, and now they will be looking for a quality pass rusher to complement him. The question for the Bucs is who to draft, since with the 20th pick there will still be a good amount of talent available.
As for who to pick, everyone has a different idea on that. WalterFootball

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Without a signature victory and reeling from a three-game losing streak to end the regular season, the Maryland men's basketball team faces a daunting challenge as it begins postseason play Thursday against North Carolina State: It likely must win four consecutive ACC tournament games - a feat never achieved - to reach the NCAA tournament.
But Terrell Stoglin, Maryland's freshman point guard, won't be intimidated by the stage or the stakes.
Stoglin, a native of Tucson, hasn't been in College Park long, but he's acutely aware that the Terrapins haven't been playing what Coach Gary Williams refers
